Scribus

Open code alternative to QuarkXpress, InDesign and PageMaker.

Tools like QuarkXpress or InDesign are known all over the world because they are a standard for the creation and layout of all kinds of publications, from posters and calendars to newspapers and magazines. Now we have at our disposal Scribus, a completely free alternative to the two aforementioned applications, but this doesn't mean that it has a lot less features than them.

  The programs interface is very similar to that of any of the two professional applications and it practically has all the same features as them, like the editing of the contents by means of a vectorial drawing tool, support for the CMYK color system or the capacity to export our work in PDF format.

  Other important functions of the program are the one that allows to drag&drop text and images directly to the editing window, redimension each object seperately and print the project with personalized shape and size.
